Our latest DVD was released a week ago, and there has been a lot of interest in it. This a subject matter that I am really interested in – designing and constructing homes than will help to reduce energy costs and greenhouse emissions, and improve the quality of life. ESC is an entire philosophy for the design and construction of homes and communities. The DVD looks at 5 different concepts: Passive Design, Environmental Sustainability, Material Use, Energy Reduction and Water Consumption.

We released our latest ancient history dvd, NEW KINGDOM EGYPT in September. It is proving to be popular, as it covers all the political periods during the 500 years of Egypts Golden Age: the expansion of the Empire; maintenance of the Empire; the Amarna revolution; the Ramesside period. The New Kingdom saw the development of the “warrior pharaoh” image, the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt, and the flourishing of the Amun Re cult, with Egypt having unprecedented power across the ancient world. Included in the DVD is an extended chapter on Hatshepsut, one of the most controversial personalities in the New Kingdom.

NEW KINGDOM EGYPT

Half way through editing my latest ancient history programme, New Kingdom Egypt. Lasting 500 years this was Egypt’s golden age, when their Empire ruled the ancient world. The New Kingdom was dominated by pharaohs who considered themselves “warrior pharaohs” and built marvellous temples to worship their gods. Ahmose I, Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Akhenaten, Tutankhamun and Ramesses II are the best known pharaohs of the New Kingdom. The DVD will be released in September.

ROME – A Two Part DVD

Posted: December 28, 2009 in Educational Videos

The DVDs are a comprehensive overview of ROME from its humble beginnings as a small village on the banks of the Tiber River, through to a kingdom, a republic, an empire and finally its decline. Part One is is 51 minutes in length, while Part Two is 60 minutes. I have been working on this programme for about seven months, and it will be released in the first few weeks of February 2010. Have just recorded the final narration for the ROME DVDs before Christmas.  At the moment laying in the final narration and fine tuning the pictures to the speed of the read. Also making final adjustments to maps, graphics and colour corrections.

RENOVATING A HOME

Posted: November 1, 2009 in Uncategorized

Just completed ‘Renovating A Home’ last Wednesday when the DVD was finally ready for distribution.

‘Renovating A Home’ is a DVD about the design process during a renovation, and the steps taken during the construction to successfully accomplish those aims. The construction phase of the renovation was lengthy and difficult.  This was due to a building location that was steep, with limited access, and then hindered by bad weather. But the end result was certainly worth the effort, and the owners are extremely happy with the final result.

Filming with my small camera with fisheye lens in Sydney’s Botanical Gardens. This is for “Children of the Earth” a DVD based on 10 songs written by musician John Bennetts, formerly of Eurogliders. The DVD is designed for primary school students, to use as a video background for performing, or for singing in the classroom.
